Andrew Bartko is Executive Director of the Center for Microbiome Innovation at the University of California, San Diego, where he leads cross-disciplinary initiatives at the intersection of microbiome science, clinical medicine, bioengineering, and data science. His work focuses on advancing spatial genomics approaches to understand cancer biology and the host-microbiome interface, integrating spatial transcriptomics and metabolic analysis to uncover drivers of tumor heterogeneity and disease progression. Through collaborative research and innovation, Andrew is helping translate microbiome and spatial biology discoveries into precision strategies for diagnostics, therapeutics, and human health.
