Chief Medical Officer Gut-Brain Axis Therapeutics
Alexander Khoruts, MD, is a Distinguished McKnight Professor at the University of Minnesota, where he directs the Microbiota Therapeutics Program. In partnership with Dr. Michael Sadowsky, he was the first to demonstrate engraftment of donor microbiota in a patient and pioneered standardized fecal microbiota formulations for transplantation. While his own clinical work has focused largely on the treatment of complex Clostridioides difficile infections, his program is involved in clinical trials for a variety of indications. Dr. Khoruts has authored over 200 scientific publications and is internationally recognized for advancing the clinical application and pharmacology of microbiome therapeutics.
